lilac & lemon

This for the challenge on UK stampers blog, using lilac and lemon colours. I've made another card but that will be leaving hopefully in the post today for someone who reads my blog, really pleased how it turned out. Check out the DCM their challenge today, talk about sneaky no magnolia, sugar nellies or bellas to be used but a feminine stamp.
I also need help for my a-z journal book of me, the next letter is E and I can only think of eccentric which I honesty doesn' t describe me!

Mum's Recipe

Two buttons, one ribbon and a 'spoonful' of flowers.....! Put all the ingredients together and bake in a craft room until complete ! Now the boot was brought from the make it show and was a acylic stamp I think from the fourth dimension she was showing how th make a collage of flowers onto the boot, I tried but it really did look awful so I settled into making the dinky flowers that I learned at a quilling class.
Now SBS8 have a challenge and its a sketch from CPS, used K& Co papers and not forgetting Tilda.
I've been really good have found some soppy verses for Mother's Day and sorted out the inserts and they're ready to go, plus some new Anniversary words for those cards too. The best sites I go to our imag-e-nation and verseit there was a couple more but I noticed they no longer working.

Sketches

I'm really disappointed with the photo its much better in real life, this is for the Ismaki sketch 8. The papers are making memories, the corner and word stamp are from a Scrapagogo kit, Tilda was paper pieced for the card below then I didn't like so I couldn't waste it. The tiny flowers was a punch and backed co-ordinating paper, nearly didn't put the ribbon on but when you make a bow and its turns out perfect you have to use it somewhere.
When I discovered that this Tilda went with Tough Edwin, I have waited patiently for it to arrive in the few stores that stock magnolias but I kept missing out so I ordered from Magnolia themselves. My fingers hurt where they've been crossed so hard but they arrived super quick just over a week and I had to used him and although they take longer I'm getting some nice results with my prismacolours. So I've used the magnolia couple using the sketch from Nicola of My Paper World papers are chatterbox and flowers by prima.
So exciting day for me I have wait in for the Plummer and a Glazer.

Wishing you well

This is for the challenge on Tilda & Co and thanks to Fran for the image, also Katharina for the idea of popping the ribbon through card. Lovely imaginesce papers and I coloured him in with Prismacolour pencils, still need to get used to the colours and to be careful in small areas because the colours become really strong.

I've booked for the first Scrap-a-ganza in the UK at Stratford in June and it sounds like quite a few of the girls from the crop are going too but will have to wait to confirm who at the next crop.

Happy Rudolph Day

Yes its come around again and thanks to Josieanne on UKS I have some Snowbellas to use this time with some DCWV papers the tags are from Clevercut. I'm also covered in glitter dust, now I know I prefer it to the stickles but really I do get it every where.
Now this little gem is thanks to Scrapdolly and if you use the link on her name it will take you to her blog where the instructions are, while you are there check out what she has made for DCM challenge recycle plastic. The CD holder would actually be ideal for Mothers Day, which if you're in the UK its on Sunday. I have almost copied Scrapdolly's except from the papers which I have used 3 bugs.

And FairyKaren I'm waiting for my OH to take it to the PO cos its needs weighing it might be quicker for me to give to you at the crop!

Blogging forever

This is my DCM challenge card and testimony to all whats good about crafty blogs. First a challenge blogs like DCM making you try things you wouldn't try like recycle Plastic!
On my travels through blogland someone mentioned ( can't remember which blog so if it was you thank you) the plastic wrapper on the new cuttlebug folders now we all know I've some of them, then Marlou guest designer on DCM this week wrote that she used her cuttlebug embossing folders on the plastic, so I've done that too. All of the blogs showing off their wonderful creations using nestabilities, so had to get some. Lastly many thanks to Isa and her wonderful tutorial on Prisamcolour pencils, I was ready to scream because I couldn't colour as well as I watercoloured and I've warned you all about my patience. So here's my first Tilda using prismscolours that didn't end up in the bin. Now this little pink darling is for the Sugar Nellie Pink challenge, using DCWV papers, may be a bit late with this one.

A card and scrapping too

So this is Di Hickman Feb#3 challenge, I've used the blog candy I got a while ago from Sheila Manicstamper the making memorys blossom and brads have been in their box, hanging on a hook looking pretty for a while now but I've broken into them so be prepared to see them again, the papers are K & Co again from Sheila. Also Sheila is auctioning some of her stamps if you win you donate to the Ellie Wiseman fund, I've won the most gorgeous Chinese Lady stamp but at the moment I think there is some Christmas Grab Bags. So onto Scrapping this is a LO for the weeky challenge on UKS,
Song title from sound track of Saturday Night Fever or Grease as LO title - Two photos - Something shiney - To use white on LO
Finding song title was hard but finally decided on We go together from Grease, obvious two photos, shiny brads and white cardstock. The papers are October Afternoon left over from my Debby page last week and the stitching was using bazzill stitching thingy that I got from a Scrapagogo kit. I also used a pagemap sketch, not quite the same but certainly starts the ball rolling.

Tilda and String!

So this weeks challenge on Tilda & Co is to use string, so I asked OH for some string. Nope he hasn't got any and the only bit of string I've got and was staring at me all week is a bit string that runs from two hooks that hold my kitchen roll in my craft room, I'm such a messy crafter the kitchen roll is an essential piece of equipment. Finally found a rough piece of string but what do I do with it now. There on my desk was a rub on lolly stick so using the cropadile made a swing probably not very orginal but the best I could do. I've used DCWV papers and some flowers from my stash. Notice the plain blue card with embossed spots, thats because my new embossing folders have arrived.

Oranges and Lemons

Sorry I'm a bit late this morning but my antiviruis thingy demanded to be run because it found a nasty virus and the PC goes slow when this is running and PATIENCE is not my thing.
Had a day yesterday where most of what I tried to do went in the bin, I've lost count how many times I tried to make this duck, either I smudged it or it looked messy but eventually I pleased with this one and I've finally cut into the gorgeous imaginisce card that I've been stroking for weeks. This is for the DCM little extra which is to use orange and lemon, the ribbon I copied from Fran's card that she sent me.
Gwen my SBS8 sister has awarded me an Excellent blog Award, thanks Gwen, love your blog too. There is so many excellent blogs out there to many to name and they're the reason I spend far too much time on this PC.

Ismaki challenge #7

I love Ismaki challenge, why because there's a sketch involved. I used stampendous stamps that Francoise Read designed, used a silver pigment pad and pearlescent silver embossing powder, then they were coloured in with Artquest pearsclent watercolour paints. I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss the middle panel but I don't think I needed to bother.
It's very quiet on the home front, DD is back working as an Assistant Manager at the pub she used to work at (she needed the money, they needed someone reliable) no craft parcels for me although I have to thank Samm for the link to Magnolia stamp club, this would be fine but I had already placed an order with them, fingers crossed they arrive with no probs. Thinking about it still waiting for my new cuttlebug folders from Craft U Love.

Katharina's Sketch

Over on Katharina's blog she is celebrating her 10 000 hits with a challenge which is a sketch, exactly I don't need say anything more. Although the orginal card had a different flower, changed the flower now I'm happy. I used Daisy bucket papers which are so great for card making. Embossed the panel and used some chalk inks to make it co-ordinate with the papers.

Now I've been tagged by one of my SBS8 Julie.

Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog, we all want to know them.
Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Closer look at Debby

A closer look at D - Debby, DD wasn't impressed with the crown on the last page cos it is so not me but something she would do and she had an eye on those Heidi Swapp crowns.
I think you can click on the pic to make the larger.

A-Z Journal

This is what I've been working on the last couple of days. I have seen some word books and thought I will try to make my own, now if I had a cricut expression instead of the baby cricut this would have been so much easier but I had to make do with the circles and ovals from creative memories shapes to make the template. I was half an inch out which is why I have a back page the correct size. The papers are October Afternoon and it took much longer than I bargained for, because it was like a journal all by itself. I have now decided that this A-Z journal will have rings to hold it together because no matter how I try to keep the embellishments flat, its still going to be one fat book.

Di Hickman Feb#2

Well I've had the most awful job trying to photo this card, luckily this is the best of the last lot. The flower stamp-stampin up, labels-stamps away, cuttlebug embossing folder, backing paper out of the stack of papers from Fran and I copy the ribbon idea from Di's sample for her sketch.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the amazing comments I've received lately. I really do enjoy checking back to your blogs.

Ismaki No 6

This is Ismaki sketch 6, I had to leave the text out on the left simply because it would be too much and the ribbon replaces the strip behind oval. Fran's card inspired me to get out those fabulous embossing folders out, the stamps are stamps away from Clevercut. I love DCWV card stacks, with the white core hoping to get some more this weekend. We are visiting my MIL bit of a flying visit but will certainly have a chance to pop into The Range.

Happy Valentine's Day

I had so much fun with this sketch#4 from My Paperworld, I have to thank Carmen Jellybean for the idea. I looked at the stamps, clothes that fitted Jenny's bear (hobbyart) and Carmen mentioned that Francoise Read garden set of stamps the apron fitted the bear. So has you can see it does, a bit on the long side but perhaps he's short like me. I stamped the bear on some K&Co paper that Manicstamper sent me as blog candy, then I believe its K&co Hopscotch paper for the background, I cut up the little square page to make a frame.
Now this amazing card came from Fran, isn't it gorgeous my OH says I will wear it out if keep stroking it. And the pic below is all my blog candy, love the papers because I haven't got any of them and I've already used some.

Although this won't ease my guilty feelings Crafts U Love have the new embossing folders for the cuttlebug perhaps I shouldn't mention how many of them fell into my basket!

Recycle Tilda

Well the Tilda & co recycle challenge left me in a dilemma, I have some beer coasters shaped like a shield that are earmarked for a project for June ( its my Dad's birthday as well as Father's Day). The problem being that I've only got about six which ideal for what I want it for. So I used one of them as a stencil which I did use on some chipboard type packaging that I saved. Some chatterbox paper, prima flowers and add a watercoloured Edwin with some peel off letters.

Roses

So here's what I managed to do at the crop on Sunday, not quite my taste mainly because I rarely do heritage type layouts but I think it suits the pictures. They're of my hubby parents and the little journalling patch is still in pencil cos he doesn't know where they were married so I've had to order the marriage certificate to find out because OH wants to keep it secret. I believe the papers are Making Memories and I actually going to throw them out when I realised it would work with the photos, which are photos of photos because they don't scan.

And this is what I was doing yesterday, DD is making a scrapbook of her life at Disney so I was making these for her pages. I going to have to show her how to do it because she likes the idea of an A-Z of Disney Characters.

Scrapbooking

Yessssss I've scrapbook managed to do this LO for the weekly challenge on UKS, I used Heidi Grace papers that were with a Scrapagogo kit ages ago that I hadn't used. Unfortunately I had a bit of a sort out and dismantled the kits and put them away so now I had to go and have a look if I could work out which belong to what.
I have two Layouts almost finished for MIL book.

Oh no it's a sketch.

They call it a template, I call it a sketch and we all know I can't resist a sketch, no will power you know. So this is my card for DCM challenge, daisy bucket papers, nestabilities and simply friends stamps that is one of my favs. So once again no scrapbooking. I've been a bit behind on some on of the blogs I check out so I've caught up with them and blow me some have links to more blogs with sketches. I feel like a star trek episode with the borg "Resistance is Futile," but resist I have although Nicola at PaperWorld sketch #4 is out. But you didn't hear it from me LOL.

At Scrapbuddies at Mychett Community Centre if you passing and what to see what its like pop in we don't bite. At least there I might Scrapbook.

and the winner is ME

First of all I would like to apologize for having to moderate the comments, I probably don't have to say why. Just like to say Thanks to Andrea for explaining how I sort it out.

Now for the really really good news, I won the blog candy on Fran's blog Fran's hubby choose my little book not sure what the fold is called. So I've been going around with smirk on face all day.

So I leave you with Di Hickman Feb#1 the stamp is anita's and flowers out of my stash. I tried not to sew I was going to doodle like Jo did on DCM but I couldn't help it before I knew my needle was threaded and the holes had been made.

Off to Scrapbuddies crop tomorrow at Mychett, I'm in trouble cos I posted Karen pic on her team thread on UKS. You never know I might actually get to scrapbook.

Ismaki Challenge

This challenge gave me the excuse to use these stamps I brought from Butterfly Kisses stall at the make it show. It was a really naughty stall with loads of PB stamps and their own designs and you couldn't help but stop by and buy something although many of the stamps were sold out by Saturday. I forget to stamp on turq card to do the option 2 of the challenge but I love how the card is made with just stamping and white and brown cardstock.
I'll being really good and going through all my 12 by 12 paper, some of it I wondered what on earth was I thinking buying that and some I brought for cardmaking but it's got all muddle together so I've decide to try and keep it apart from the scrapbooking stuff. I also have been collecting pizza boxes of kits, so I'm dismantling them and having a good look at them to see if I would actually use the papers.
My poor Sis is under the weather hope she feels better soon especially as we are off out on Saturday at Wings in Farnborough to celebrate Chinese New Year, if its has good as the New Year celebrations they put on we're in for a great night.

FairyKaren's 50th

So first we start with a card done with Nicola's sketch 3 on Paperworld blog, I love sketches. Not sure about the flower but the label was done with a Butterfly kisses stamp that I brought at the make it show, the paper is DCWV. The scalloped the edge with decorative scissors, holes with the cropadile and thread ribbon through. And this is FairyKaren at her 50th Birthday Party, if you live in the area and shop at The Art of Craft in Northcamp you may have seen her working there. She doesn't get paid very often usually she owns them money at the end of her shift.

Here she is again with myself, Valelady and her DD. Mr Grumpy is in the back of the photo with Carmen Jellybean minus her notorious jellybean earrings.

Magnolia's overload.

Here's my card for Fran's challenge.
The Challenge:I love my rubber stamps and am always amazed by all the different types of folding cards and other creations you can make with some ink and rubber! So I would love to see what you can make. It could be a simple bookmark, a doorhanger, a notebook, anything besides a traditional single fold card. As long as it uses a stamped image and is NOT a bog standard single fold square card (and hasn't been featured on your blog before).
I used card stock and dovecraft paper pad for the patterned paper then I just added loads of magnolia's.
I've made loads of these in particular for wedding invites that then didn't get used but not with so many cute images.

C for Crafty

Well I've done my page for C for Crafty, I've only done one page cos there's an idea forming for the next letter and I will need the right hand side of the page for it to work. Sorry for the bad photos may change them later. I used crate paper and the photos of the scrapbooking are two layouts I won the house challenge on UKS and the middle one is a favourite of mine. I took a picture of some the cards I made but even though the flash wasn't on it looks like it. Not sure if you can read the journalling but it was really saying how my Mum was a knitter and how my Sis convinced my OH that this was a cheap hobby.
Not sure how much I will get done today the best way to describe how I feel is delicate, not sure why hope its not some dreaded lurgy.

Bag Lady

Can you believe I didn't do any crafting yesterday, was going to take my new stamps over to Sis so she could stamp them out but J was coming over with his Dad who had heard about the roast dinner. So we played mostly with him and later was stuffed with food.
So I leave you with my Bag Lady layout that Sis has been moaning for ages that I haven't put on my blog now she will probably moan because I have, at least I used the photos that I had photoshop out the red nose of her cold. The layout is based on a Pagemaps sketch that also does card sketches too.
Today I plan to do my a-z journal because before I know it we will be on D.

Somebunny loves you

Look what fell through the letter box yesterday some more sugar nellies this time designed by Rachelle Ann Miller. I have slightly layered the bunny's head and the flower and although it looks pink it was a red watercolour pencil. So I used red and white papers so ideal for the Daring Cardmakers challenge. The words I did on the PC and the circle and scalloped circle cut with nestabilities. Now just need play with the rest, didn't have time today, I very foolishly mention how well I sorted the wireless thingy and now we find its not secure, have spent most of the last evening sorting that out.

Di Hickman #5

This Di Hickman Jan sketch#5 using K&co papers and stamps away flower. The sentiment was from Michaels in a dollar box.

I've photo it slightly different after seeing how Paperbabe did hers. She just used a chair and some 12 by 12 cardstock. Now do the cards look nicer this way or should I just photo them head on like I ususally do.

No snow down here in the south east although my MIL has some and looks like we're getting rain tomorrow but hope it holds off because we've been promised a roast dinner if Hubby can help to clear up Sis garden. Trust me Sis's Roast Dinner is something not to miss.
