Saturday's Princess

I had coloured my Princess from WOJ and have used her on the sketch from Kristine from Friday Sketchers. The only words I had was about flowers which wouldn't have worked so the words are a larger stamp from Crafty Individuals cut down and wanted to use something stamped and embossed on the other panel too, first I had big swirls but they were too big so I've used a crackle stamp which looks a bit more delicate. The flower charm is from Eggstravaganza, I was directed there by Bev's blog, some gems and glamour dust to finish off.
Tomorrow is March and I don't want to scare anyone but thats three weeks to Mothers Day in the UK.

Spoonful of Friday

A spoonful of Sugar is a challenge for a shaped card other than a square card, I decided against a circle card because of the bulky way I make cards and you have to try and balance the card so its doesn't tip so I decided on this Octagon card. I made all my cards from A4 cardstock so I first made a template on the Cricut. I guess you could be fed up with seeing WOJ spring kit but I've only just started to use them and I thought she would look cute sitting on the edge. I've still haven't conquered my fear of Damon the sewing machine so the stitching is by hand. The papers are SEI and the flowers are Poppicrafts.

So when the Scrapagogo kit fell on my head, the fab heart embellishment was in the pack along with Bittersweet BG card sticker and when I saw the Hugs and Kisses I knew I wanted to use it for Laura's sketch on 2sketchers4you. The semi circle at the top is a flap held down with a magnet, the idea I can hide a message underneath, I was thinking this could be Anniversary card for Hubby but I think I already made him one.

Birds and Butterflies

Who broke Blogger, there I was happily checking out blogs and they disappeared, I know people had problems commenting but I couldn't open blogs. So I gave up which is a shame but I did make a couple of cards. The first are these fabulous birds which is a dream2stamp, I tried to colour the birds like the Great Tits that feed in my garden but they're never around when you want them. I used the sketch 75 on Mojo Monday, the papers are Imaginesce and the sentiment stamp is Hero Arts but the words are peel offs.

While I was looking for something the Scrapagogo kit fell on my head, I had forgotton I had put it there and while Valentine has been and gone, I liked some of the papers and wanted to use them this is one of the cards I made, the card is made following the CPS104 sketch and the sentiment is from Butterfly Kisses isn't it sweet and I had planned for three small butterflies but they were bigger than I thought so you only get one. Nearly forgot the papers are SEI.

Just when I thought all my new rubber was mounted the Gorjuss girls dropped through my letterbox, now I not sure about these girls, I love the actual girls but for me to colour and use them, that was until I saw what Rachel had done with one of the them in a lovely peach colour too.

Its the 25th

Today is the 25th February so I have used the fab Santa from Funky Kits and Dawn's fab sketch on Papertake Weekly, the papers are craftwork cards. Its turned out quite simple cos the weekend has finally caught up with me but I have managed to ez mount some rubber.

While catching up I found that Karen has sent me this Award, thanks very much and if you haven't received it yet, I'm sending it to you.

Butterfly Kisses Ellie

Where did yesterday go, I still got tons to do but the body just doesn't want to help but I did manage this card. I've used the sketch on Friday sketchers and the bright papers are pebbles I think and the sweet Ellie is from Butterfly Kisses, a stall from the make it show. The sentiment are new stamps from Francoise Read (Woodware Clear Stamps) and they punch out using the yellow woodware punch, I think its 1 1/2 inches.

So the plan today is to get the new rubber on some ez mount and catch up blogging.

Phew

Whoa what a busy weekend, no card or time to blog yesterday and I've cheated a bit today with combining two challenges, Penny Black Saturday challenge for a Get Well Card and Sketch Saturday's sketch. I love this bunny, she was brought when I couldn't colour PB stamps very well so I knew I probably wouldn't ever use her but love her just the same. I so please that my colouring has improved so much that she can be used. Of course the hat just cried out to be 3d and those lovely spring papers of Imaginesce from last year, the flowers are from Poppicrafts and the brads picked up over the weekend on the £1 stalls.

I'm in such a pickle, all the goodies brought over the weekend from the show and MJ's Every Moment Matters shop, also everything I took to crop with (and didn't use) has to be put away and just basically catching up especially with my blog list who I just haven't visited lately like I usually do. I've also got a lot of rubber to be mounted onto ez mount, not just my WOJ spring kit but the medieval set too (arrived on Saturday) and some Alota rubber too, good job I brought plenty of ez mount from Joanne Sheen shop.

And before I forget this award has been sent to me by Heather, many thanks.

Spring has sprung

The challenge on Cute Card Thursday is for signs of Spring and this little cutie was coloured and ready to be used. The papers I think is SEI, I know I brought them ages ago and its taken to now to cut them. I used the sketch on Everybody Art by Tina its a brilliant sketch. The butterfly gems I've had for ages and I'm not convinced they're work but they are firmly stuck and would make a mess if I tried to remove them.
So the Make it show, a bit of a disappointment maybe because most of the stash you can buy is ready available online. Saying that though I manage to buy some PB in the bargain bucket and I succumbed to some copics too, yes the poor stallholder watched as I kept pulling off the caps to see whether they were as difficult as the promarkers and no I wasn't sniffing the alcohol ink but it was a good job Hubby didn't realise they had alcohol in cos he would of said that was the case. It has to be said that we left the Make it Show quite early so had plenty of time to pop into the Art of Craft, DD wanted some shrink plastic and Jane only had A5 sheets on the stall and DD also have never been to the Crafty Cow (who by the way has 15% off this weekend including copics) I wonder if I can convince Sis she needs to pop by on Sunday.
I've also been napped by customs for some stamps, have to be honest don't mind the customs but the handling fee by the Post Office is way over the top £8 to write me a postcard to say I need to pay customs.
I'm still sulking about my WOJ spring club kit, it almost seems everyone has theirs but me.
Today I'm off to MJ crop, her shop will be there and I think this weekend its free postage if you order online but I will be able stroke and touch, then buy. Of course this is providing that my Sis arrived home late last night.

Make it Friday

Not sure if I'm happy with this card it feels like there should be more of something, the sketch is CPS103 and I've used some of the scraps left from Daisy Bucket forgot that there were brown spots on the back of the stripe paper. The swirly frame is cut with the cricut using the Graphically speaking cartridge. The daisy is a punch and I know, you know that the leaves are a punch too.
I'm very sorry to the blogger who showed the swiss dots embossing and using another folder afterwards but I thought it was a brilliant idea and I've used on Laura's sketch for 2sketches4you. The dots do flatten but you can re-emboss using an embossing tool. The little bird is inkadinkado and ribbon out of my stash.
Off to the Make it Show today although there doesn't seem to be so many on the list exhibitors so we will wait and see. As my Sis is in Spain and I don't like DD car (it bounces around a bit too much for my liking) Hubby is coming to help push me around so that means I must be on best behaviour and leave the credit card at home. But don't worry Sis is back today and we plan another trip on Sunday the credit card will be coming with me then but don't tell Hubby!

Spring Thursday

Doing anything is being pretty hard at the mo and I have to be really good because its a busy weekend again, this time is off to the Make it Show in Farnborough and MJ all day crop on Saturday and just in case I do anything I shouldn't I have a babysitter! My daughter has a week off from work and all I get is "What you cha doing".

Luckily for me while at MIL I took some images and one of these was this fab girl from Dream2stamp, not too sure that I've coloured the daffodil very well. I suggested to Hubby to go and buy some so I could see how to colour and I got the LOOK. I've used the Debbie's sketch from Spoonful of Sugar and so I could add it to collection for Create a Card for Cancer Card it an A6 card which I think it worked out well. The papers are from Imaginesce, I have plenty of the white floral background but I found scraps of the others.

Sugar Bowl Wednesday

The challenge on the Sugar Bowl is for one sheet of patterned paper, thank goodness for double sided Imaginesce. I've used the Mary Hall stamp from Sugar Nellie, they're smaller than I would like so they quite fiddly to 3d. Yes I've used my leaf punch yet again.

So you can see I'm back from my visit to MIL, although the journey's was done in good time it wasn't good for me, so not sure how much I'm up to doing today, it doesn't help getting photos sent to hubby's mobile of sunny weather in Spain from my Sis who informed me they sitting outside on the front and its so warm she's taken her coat off.

Talking of Sis this is one of her cards, its a Thank you card from my Mum but she got Sis to make them. Sis makes what I call traditional cards.

Penny Black on Tuesday

I don't think this photo of my Penny Black Saturday challenge is too bad since I had to take it at night, it took several tries working out where to put the daylight lamp but the poor mouse's body is 3d though you wouldn't think it. This is a fab sketch from Nat and although its sort of the same colours its not the Daisy Bucket papers that I used on Sunday but there's only bits of this left too so I'm trying to use it up to justified buying more.
edited changed the photo to one taken in daylight.

Sketch Saturday Bunny

Can you believe it but this poor bunny has never been inked and I've had him for ages, I think he's Pringle there was also another bunny but I only brought this one from Funky Kits. So I thought it only fair to use him for Sketch Saturday, the papers I think is Pebbles but again don't hold me to that, the label has long since been cut off. I really wasn't going to use my new leaf punch, honest because there's no green in the papers I didn't think it would work and I just happened to see what it would like and I liked it but that could be I'm biased and just wanted to use them. Another fab sentiment from Cuddly Buddly.

Orange Sunday

This weeks sketch on Friday sketchers is from Heidi, once again out comes the Daisy Bucket papers, the size of the stripes depended on how much I've got left. It was really annoying though cos I found some more of the stripy papers after I finished the card. The sentiment is Cuddly Buddly, I cute out the sentiment and punch a contrasting circle with a Woodware yellow circle punch works brilliantly together.

So now down to some scraps although I think I may have just enough for one more card. I used them on Tamarra's sketch. Some punch flowers and of course my new leaf punch, you will be bored seeing it soon its a case of new punch must use it on everything. The sentiment is Hero Arts clear stamps.

So has soon as the bags are packed we're off for a flying visit to MIL, must make sure DD knows not to use the washing machine, the engineer came out to fix it but it now leaks even worse.
Don't worry I've a few cards scheduled if blogger loves me.

Valentine Saturday

I did buy this couple from Magnolia's love collection, thought it would work for engagement, anniversary or wedding but she's so cute she will work on her own too. I've used the challenge on Cute Card Thursday, which is Music or Dance, I've used a line in the Shoop Shoop song very appropriate for today don't you think. Do you notice the embossed hearts didn't know Cuttlebug did one till I saw it on Marlou blog, it does come with a die with words so it worked out quite expensive if you just wanted the folder. The papers are Dovecraft, Laura Ashley collection I think, the bag has long since disappeared, the sentiment done on PC and yes I've used the MS punch again.

Doodling Friday

At last my new Tilda's, trust me to be the one that they sell out with but they said they would have more on Monday. They were right and they were duly posted on Monday, here Wednesday and yesterday my first card made. I didn't buy them for Valentines, I had chosen ones that would work for other events. I so love this one with the puppy.

Now I know I said that all the Daisy Bucket papers were gone but what I meant was that selection, this is another collection but there's not much of this one left. I can't doodle but I managed to doodle faux stitching so I reckon I can use this card for A spoonful of sugar challenge and do you spy my new leaf punch its really hard to punch with so I will get a collection of green papers and get hubby to punch loads out. I found it at the Glitter Pot, only problem you get free postage if you spend £40!

Frosty Thursday

I had these papers already out and I loved the hearts I made last week for the Ismaki challenge, so I made a couple more but larger and had the idea of using the CPS102 sketch, well it started with the sketch and sort of went its own way. The swirl and letters are cut with cricut and the stamp I've used for the hearts as well as the word mat is crafty individuals. The camera hasn't seem to capture the colours very well and its not quite wishy washy in real life.

Of course I've got the new Elizabeth Bell stamps from Funky kits do you really think I could resist. Doodlebug papers again and using the Papertake weekly sketch. I didn't want to use brads and gems because this is on its way to a little girl who is not quite 3 who couldn't make Great Nanny and Great Grandad Golden Wedding, she had to stay at home with her Dad looking after her Chicken Pox. Certainly having a probs with the camera because that ribbon matched the papers pretty well.

Someone has asked how I colour my images, I use both prismacolours and polychromos pencils and sansador, using paperstumps.

I have some awards this one is from Karen, thanks.

A smack for me cos I forgot Tracey sent me this award too, hope you had a great birthday.

So yesterday I tried to break blogger by loading my A-Z of me on my other blog. You can find it HERE

Icy Wednesday

There's a brilliant sketch from Katharina on the High Hopes Challenge blog and also they calling for Guest designers for 3 months with their choice of some stamps. Not sure this card is good enough but I didn't want to over power it with big flowers. I was trying to use the colour combo on Colour Create challenge of Aqua and Peach but to be honest I haven't got any Peach and the closest was this pink but I think it works quite well. Yes the aqua piece is a bit of those Daisy Bucket ones that I said was all gone but this piece was hiding in between some other papers, the flowery paper is Chatterbox and although the challenge option was to make your own flowers I've used these Prima ones.

When I saw the sketch on 2 sketches4you, it made me think of a tall card and I realised I haven't used this elegant lady for a while and I just love paper piecing her and BG works so well for this.

They are also offering some Blog Candy for some Eye Candy, basically they're asking for a Pic of the one you love on your blog. Not sure you would call my hubby Eye Candy but he is mine.

Soggy Tuesday

The one time I didn't check Daring cardmakers blog only to find the challenge is an Oriental card not using red and black, it was to late because I had already paper pieced my Oriental girl but I did use Sketch Saturday sketch and the Basic Grey Challenge was to use two different ranges which I have the green background is Archaic and the rest is Boxer. The lovely sweet Oriental girl is another Dream2stamp and she comes has a pair.

Now the Penny Black challenge was for Romance, so I thought this pair of geese would be nice a quick card to make till I decided I wanted the scenery background stamp from Alota stamps to be behind them and because I decided it would be Anniversary card for hubby I needed to find some more masculine papers then I put flowers on it, so its not all that masculine after all. I used the Ismaki sketch because I needed help because its a large card. The sentiment was done on the PC, its really corny but its out song, it was playing on the radio when we first met.And a big Thank you to Joey for this marvellous award, she not feeling very well at the mo, nasty tooth abcess hope it gets better soon.

Its a good job DD is not going to work today, the Pub where she is assistant manager is on the river and its about to burst it banks.
