Cat-Girl

Wendy from Secret Crafter has some fabulous new stamps, they're still called Manga stamps but with fab details. I think this cat-girl is adorable if you forget that the birdcage is open and the bird is missing!
Initially I was worried about the eyes but once I had coloured one of the images and saw how cool they look, I wondered why I was worried. There is a total of five new stamps and we're showcasing one image each day over on Secret Crafter.
I used the download from Sweet Shoppe from Zoe Pearn, I'm not sure its Forget me Knot or Bloom and Grow.

Then I forgot

I'm really struggling to make cards at the moment, especially with this card using Friday Sketchers sketch this week. Originally the papers were the other way and with the image still wet with glue, I pulled the oval off an turn it round. I love the papers but maybe they're a bit busy and wanted my flowers to have leaves but they didn't look right either. The sentiment is a new one but I've noticed that when I pulled it off, its curled upwards. It a shame cos I love this slapstick PB stamp.
So today is a Bank Holiday and here in Guildford we have the County show, so traffic will be bedlam so we shall be staying home and I really must try and get on top of some DT work.

Truly Chloe

While Hubby is home, I decided to move a filing cabinet under the shelf where the PC is, for the last few years its been stuck out with the printer on since we didn't have enough cable length to move the tower. So today the plan was to move it and buy whatever lead we needed. So I thought I'll pop on to see if the PC is working since we've pulled out all the leads and put them back.
Then I remember I've had Chloe from Pink Designs waiting to be blogged. I've used Wild Rose papers and the Truly Scrumptious sketch. I've used the deep edge daisy punch to make the border round the oval and the retro or funky flower punch for the flowers with some gems to finish off. I do love how the Craftwork cards sentiment ovals fit in the Stamping up ovals.
Have had picture from Sis so far they've arrived in Spain with no mishaps!

It's a Party

It's party time over on the High Hopes Challenge blog, perfect timing to use A Party Donkey. The papers are the My Mind's Eye Penny Lane stack, as you can see I'm having a purple and green moment. MS zigzag punch had another outing and a couple of corners, finished off with a bit of ribbon, job done.
So did I manage to resist buying anything at the Glitter Pot of course not. I did buy some essentials, like some more white fun flock and white flower soft ready for Christmas, some foam blending pads, paper stumps. Now what wasn't on my essential list, embossed leaf punch, flower punch, sentiment stamps (but these were only £4.99 for loads of sentiments) a Tim Holtz alterations and you can't go to the Glitter Pot without at least one Penny Black falling into you basket.
Spent quite a bit of time chatting with Francoise and Jenny, we've known then for years so its like chatting to old friends.
It seems though that the Glitter Pot is hoping to move to bigger premises but we couldn't force them to tell us where cos its not all signed and sealed but I needed to know to see how it will work when we go on our West Sussex craft trip. At the moment we can drive down the M25 to The Craft Barn, Lingfield, 40 minutes from there is The Glitter Pot, Scaynes Hill, then another 40 minutes to Crafts U Love, Charlwood and then its another 40 minutes to my house, so an alteration to our journey might mean less time to visit all.

Double Challenge Saturday

Two challenges and one post see how that works.
Here's my Penny Black card the challenge is called In the Garden, I've been a bit cheeky here cos I decided to use this fellow with his froggy pals. If you've a pond in your garden the chance is you'll have some of this chaps eating your slugs.
I used Cosmo Cricket I think I've managed to mix two collections together. The funky flowers had to have button centres to match the paper. I even distress the edges and I was quite proud of myself that I hadn't made a mess of it like I usually do. Do pop over and check out the rest of the DT amazing cards.

Buttons and Blooms is the challenge on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and I was inspired to make this card when I found the dinky blue buttons. They seemed perfect for a new baby card. The papers are DCWV possible Garden Party. A touch of lace and a ribbon and dinky flowers for the dinky buttons and job done. The DT have been working hard with a secret project so look out for it next week.
Just in case you didn't realise, not that I haven't mention it nearly everyday this week, I'm off to The Glitter Pot to see the demos of course it very likely there will be things to buy, I wonder how long I shall manage to resist.

Friday Blessings

I had to make a Christening card but I don't recall having had to make one before. Then I saw a card using this image (sorry can't remember who) and they had got the image from the web. So off I went to find it,
I think its perfect for a Christening card and then I've used this  weeks Papertake Weekly sketch. The sentiment again from the web and the papers are DCWV, possible Garden Party.
My Hubby is happy Sis is not working today so she's planning to do all her chores and packing today so we can go to The Glitter Pot demo day on Saturday.
Not that I've got too many pennies someone linked to where there were second-hand Penny Black, you know who you are. I also brought some goodies from Simon Says Stamps and I need them for some projects that I've got to do today, brilliant timing. They're popping presents in their parcels at the moment since is their mascot Simon's birthday.
All this means that my craft pot is a little light!

I do Thursday

Another Wedding card this time a Magnolia Wedding, the DCWV Linen Closet has been so perfect for these cards but I've all the Kraft colours left now. I've used the fab sketch by Jane over on Just Magnolia and not forgetting the two magnolia stamps. A touch of pink roses and pearls to contrast with her bouquet and the sentiment is WOJ.
I've had some fab comments about my tidy craftroom (its not now) and some remark on how much stuff I've got. You have to remember I've been cardmaking for ten years and I'm a hoarder. It's only recently I've been able to get rid of the stack of wallpaper samples that in the early days of card making was the only pattern paper you could get.
My Sis is going on holiday again back to their apartment in Spain, I personally think she is tempting fate. February she got the tail of end of a Tropical Storm, March she arrived to Snow and no power, so does she really its safe to go away again. I'm hoping that she fancies going to The Glitter Pot this Saturday if she manages to get her chores done on Friday. Since Hubby isn't working with BIL I've told him if I don't get to on Saturday he can take me Sunday, he looked at me with fear and dread and silently hoping I go Saturday.

A very Tidy Craftroom

Not much happened here but you can see that width of my room is a kitchen cupboard and it looks like the cupboard is bowing but I've checked and it the photographer.
This is below the cupboards and where I keep my 12 by 12 papers, to left are boxes with 6in or 8 in papers and to the right is a bag of Basic Grey which I still haven't sorted yet.

There's a new shelf above my A4 cardstock and its where I keep my chipboard now.

First of all Hubby turned the wooden drawers so I can access them better and then physically forced the coloured drawer unit to fit next to it and I was told don't ask to move it again cos he's convinced its stuck solidly. The pink bag is full of brads all coloured coded sad I know.

The previous pic I hadn't brought the boxes but this one does and you can see I need at least 3 more I do believe in stacking them high. You can see the new shelf with all my flowers on, well the ones in jars. In my kitchen I've a radio with an Ipod docking thingy, I'm trying to convince Hubby I need it in my room that way I can get rid of my cd /radio player but he turned on his deaf ears.

There was a class at a retreat using a metal notice boards I didn't use it, as you can see so I got Hubby to fix it to the wall. The only magnet I got is a Simon Says Stamps fridge magnet since I forgot to put them on my shopping list yesterday. See my corner doesn't look to bad once you tidy it up. Whoops I not drinking yet the pics were taken last night.
Just to prove that my test is tidy at least at the moment, I can guarantee that it won't look like this at the end of today. Very different to the craft room I showed last on WOYW.

Pink, Green and Brown

Pink or Blue with Green and Brown is the challenge on Simon Says Stamps Challenge this week. The DT is also showcasing Penny Black, Simon Says Stamps has a HUGE collection.
Once I decided on which Penny Black I wanted to use and you know I've a few to chose from, I went with pink since blue topping to the cupcake would be close to being mouldy.
I used My Minds Eye Penny Lane and the MS to make a decorative mat. Not sure what made me decide not to put flowers on must've been feeling under the weather but didn't forget to use a ribbon. The scallop circle punch is Stampin up and the sentiment is Simon Says Stamps too.
My craft room is done or at least what I wanted done, still have some drawers that need sorting out and even though I brought some Really Useful Boxes I could do with some more or I should say I've space for more.
The photos have been taken so will show later when I upload them but first I need to do some major catching up.

RSVP

I'm in the doghouse, I promise my DD an RSVP card for yet another Wedding Invititation. Guess who forgot but I made probably the quickest card every. The Papers are DCWV Linen Closet and with the help of Martha Stewart Hearts and last weeks Mojo sketch this was the result. Those fab letters are Martha Stewart too from Simon Says Stamps, I guess we forget she doesn't just do punches.

Aladdin

The challenge on EveryBody Art Challenge is brilliant this week, It's a Fairytale. Now I'm not sure you would consider Aladdin a fairytale but if Disney made a film of it I can't see why I can't use it and it gave me a brilliant excuse to use WOJ Aladdin. I wasn't going to buy the set since I thought the city looked a bit small but when I actually saw the size at Ally Pally I changed my mind and quickly brought it before I changed it again.
The papers are My Minds Eye Penny Lane and  I can't believe how perfect the sentiment from Craftwork crafts is.
So the craftroom is coming along, I did have to rethink because I wanted to move something to make it easy to get at and it didn't fit. Today we're going to B&Q with a long list and I want to buy some really useful boxes but if they don't have the size we may have to go to Hobbycraft what a hardship.

Cute Card Monday

Oh this post has to be a quickie, Hubby is impatient to get in my craftroom and get it done before it get too hot. I sorted out most of my paper, basically I don't need anymore paper at least till the next century. It was one of those jobs I wished I hadn't started, I've still got a bag of Basic Grey to sort out and my artbin box full of Christmas papers as well.
My card today is using the Cute Card Thursday sketch and I had this PB image coloured ages ago with the intention of using it for MIL birthday card thats why I've used a lot of pink, then changed my mind. Of course then I realised the image is a bit too big for the sketch but I still like it.
You can get this image as a PB slapstick stamps but I got mine in a secondhand sale for 50p. The papers are Bella Blvd, sentiment Hero arts and my little dots, I used my cropadile.
Time to go, Hubby now annoyingly hovering behind me.

Funky Flowers

These weren't the papers I mean't to use but Heavy-handed Lil went overboard on the blue distressing and the original papers didn't work so I had to change them to the Kaiser papers that are nearly all gone.
The challenge on High Hopes Challenge blog is for Spring Flowers well I may have pushed the boat here since they don't look like any spring flowers I know but they are cute.
I'm scheduling this post because I'm not convince I will be home. Hubby is working late with BIL last night and what with the travelling I could be staying at Sis. So to be on the safe side I'm putting my trust in Mr Blogger again.

Dotty Saturday

Dots are the challenge for this week over on Penny Black Saturday Challenge. Why is it when you look for dotty paper you can't find any yet you know you have some. Anyway I printed the papers off the PC using Zoe Pearn's forget me knots download from Sweet Shoppe. It was going to be orange or blue dots as you can see I went for blue and the sweet PB image has dots on her dress too.
I may have gone over the top on the doodling but if you do it after everything is stuck down you can't go back and change it.
Now I find myself in a predicament  I have two challenges on Saturday do you prefer two posts or one together. At the moment I've done two posts.

I've received this award from Renata and  if you haven't visit do pop by she makes gorgeous cards. Now I believe I suppose to say what I shall be doing in ten years. I hope my joints maintain the status quo and I still cardmaking and scrapbooking.

Sunshine Saturday

I'm not sure whether I've got the challenge wrong here, its for Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge for No Patterned paper which I haven't use but I have made my own. The cloud background is all my own work using a template, blue inkpad and a sponge.
To begin with I was only going to do the circle background of the paddling pool but I like it so much I did a whole background square.
The MS icicle punch is what I used for the grass and all the cute images are Belles and Whistles.

This is my template I used for clouds, I was with a class with the fab Jenny Mayes from Hobby Art and she had this stencil and since the company were no longer operating she let us draw round it. This was at least 6 to 7 years ago and there's a think layer on ink on this card probably why it doesn't fall apart.
It's an early start to Wales so I'm hoping Mr Blogger will forgive me for saying he wasn't my friend in the week when he hid my comments, fingers crossed.

A couple of Gems

I had this Pink Gem Designs Santa coloured up for a colour challenge then realised I got the colours wrong but it seemed a shame not to use him. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday and the papers are Basic Grey although I don't know which one. The holly is a favourite of mine from the Christmas Cheer cartridge for the Cricut in fact its all I probably use it for.
Now my biggest concern is that its nearly June and this is the first Christmas card I've made this year only 99+ to go!
Now this is my blog and a record of all my makes and that includes Cross-Stitch. I was cross-stitching the Indian Maiden but didn't want to take it to Spain so I took this kit instead. Unfortunately that was a year ago and the other week when I was at my MIL I finally finished it.
I plan to send it to the Lovequilts UK and my next project for them will be Ivor the Engine just hope it doesn't take another year.

Andy and the Balloon

Let me introduce Andy from Pink Gem Designs who like one of nephew loves balloons, I also made this card using Friday Sketchers sketch so I need to pop this on today since there will be a new sketch tomorrow.
The papers are scraps of Daisy Bucket which have all gone now. I've use some cloth brads to make the circle like it does on the sketch but gosh those brads were nasty devils to open and fix.
The sentiment is from Craftwork cards they're already printed ovals and the fit brilliantly inside the Stampin' up oval punch.
Yesterday was so dramatic, I just popped on here while waiting for something to cook and decided to publish my comments when they disappeared, I was devasted especially I hadn't read them yet. I want to thank everyone who came back and commented again, it was so kind of you all. The comments have all returned and Mr Blogger seems to be behaving again.

Aaaahhhhhhh

I've just gone to publish all my lovely comments and Mr Blogger said there were conflicts, to go back a page and now they've all gone.
Your'e not my friend Mr Blogger.

 They're Back

Mr Blogger I like you again and many thanks to the wonderful bloggers who popped back with another lovely comment.

What's on your Desk Wednesday

I don't plan to do this reguarly since my desk looks like this normally, but I'm hoping these will be the before pictures and next week will be the after "I've had a good tidy up" pictures.
So on my desk this Wednesday is the mess from yesterday and the worst of it, I have to tidy up a bit before I can make a card.

To the right is this muddle, the pink bag is on a drawer trolley and this lot fell on top of me last week, which is why my elbow is so multicoloured.

To the left is another muddle of boxes but funny enough I know what is in them. See I work in a creative muddle where only I know where things belong.
My aim is to sort out all my 12 by 12 papers especially all the kit pizza boxes hiding in my dining room. To clear out all the crannies I can't reach and ask myself do I really need this. Can I work out if I can put another shelf in somewhere!!!!!!!!!!

Tent Card with charms

Have you made a Tent card before, well this is your chance, Simon Says Stamps Challenge this week is for just that but you need to use a charm too.  Not sure how to make a Tent card  Dena has posted on the challenge blog a How to make.
I have used DCWV Garden Party and my circle is back with acetate so I could stick Tilda on it so she looks like she's fluttering.
I added some flowers to the flowers on the card, to give them some depth. We are showcasing charms from Simon Says Stamps, I have to confess I don't think they have my charm but do have some similar and they have an amazing collection of charms by Blue Moon, one set is for Pirate charms which I had to have, pefect for my Magnolia Pirate Collection.
It heads down today, I need to crack on with my DT cards since we're off to Wales again this weekend. My Sis is going on Holiday again and felt important to see her friend before she went.
This is also the weekend I wanted to get some things sorted out in my craftroom cos Hubby's taken a couple of days off next week to help with the heavy stuff. I just wanted to say there is no truth in the rumour that he's ordered a skip.

And before I forget again this fabulous Sunshine Award came my way, from my fab blogging friend Nessy
