Easter Carly

I still have a couple of cards in reserved but after that not sure what I will be posting after them because I'm not feeling the love when making cards.
I've used a sketch for this card from MAWTT but I've missed the deadline but the papers are Pebbles Family Ties. Once again my favourite border die from MFT to make a pretty mat under my oval image. The Swirl is possibly MFT too.
I used the EK Success retro flower but I cheekily used the centre die for Fabulous Phlox from Memory Box but that because the ones from Bella Bloom I've lost but its OK I've ordered another one. The corners are a Whimsy die.
Of course my image is the gorgeous Easter Carly from Mo and you can find her here in Mo's shop.

Anything Goes

Time for new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

 and this week its
Anything Goes
The team is also using Tim Holtz products but thats not a requirement for the challenge just the DT chance to show what amazing products Simon Says Stamps has in their store.

I love seeing Tim Holtz creations they are truly stunning but there is no way I can even come close to making anything that brilliant I know I've tried. But that doesn't mean I don't use his products and when I the things I've sought after is the Bricked embossing folder I've seen some fabulous cards using this so don't be surprised to see it often.
I was going use the ragged floral dies but I do love the fleur de lys Hardware Findings and the border I used the brackets on the edge which I sometimes use more often on mini books.
Lots of inking round the edges of the Kaiser Pickled Pear papers using distress inkpad and the sweet Sarah Kay image called Barbette Sewing .
The usual suspects to finish like the roses and bit of ribbon, the sentiment though was using a Spellbinder label set called Labels 7 but I used the same die and just drew round it to make the coloured mat since the next size up was a bit too big.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog.

Wedding

Having found some more CAS challenges I thought I would give some a go but now I can't seem to find the one I made this card for. It was for silver but it is possible that mine might not be regarded as CAS but to me it is.
I've used the Stampin Up woodgrain stamp for the background and then I used the new Thinking of you stamp from the Spring mini and cut out the centre and laid it over the wedding cake image.
The silver has all been heat embossed and few peals to finish.
I shall be back at 2 pm with my Simon Says Stamps Challenge card.

Thanks to everyone who let me know its CAS-ual Fridays that has the Silver challenge.

Moooooo Tag

Time for a new challenge on Everybody Art and this week its for a tag. Now if you have followed me for a while you know I rarely do tags and if I did everyone would want one so rather than make an actual tag I added a tag to my card.
Unfortunately Mr Mojo has disappeared to find a warmer climate and my card has be saved by a fabulous image called Moo very apt from Mo Manning and possibly some very striking red flowers.
The papers are Memory box but I must have changed them a million times until I settled for these and if I had plenty of time I think I would still be changing to this day.
The leaves are a Memory Box die but chopped up to fit where I wanted and I think the flowers are the Fabulous Phlox well I know for certain the centres are.
Sentiment is computer generated not very original but will do.
Do pop over to the challenge blog to check out the team and we would love for you to join in too.

Busy Wedding

I saw the sketch from Sketchy Friday and thought this would work but to be honest my squares are to big and funny enought the smaller was didn't seem to fit so will have to re-think this layout if I did it again.
The stamps are the wedding one from the Spring Mini from Stamping Up sorry I've forgotten what it is called.
The embossed stripes are made with a scoring board. I'm afraid another bit of a disaster.

Paper Pricking

Now this was a bit of experiment and to be honest I'm not sure it worked. I need to paper prick to enter the Less is More Challenge and although that was just going round the mat so not very original.
I then stamped with Elements of style and the butterfly set from Stamping up using a brown momento pad on to the linen card I use to make the actual card. It was coloured just using my Polychomos pencils but because its Linen it gave its own texture I then added the butterflies to give dimension. Perhaps this where I went wrong and inked round the edges.
I was probably pushing my luck adding all the pearls.

New Home

I've had some images coloured waiting to be turned into cards and one of them was this Whipper Snapper. In fact I have enough images to make two cards but for now I'm just showing this one its my OMG what was I thinking using that bright yellow.
The papers are Memory box which I've had for ages and the green border is MFT triple border set but as you can see I only used two.
The sentiment is using some round punches with a fishtail for the actual sentiment.
So all the jobs yesterday have been ticked, today I need to photo the finished cards and load to my blog ready for next week posts. I may have to keep the retirement card in draft till I know he's received it.

Puss and Chicks

You can tell when Mr Mojo is having a day off I go all clean and simple although this card looks busy but thats the papers which I think is My Minds Eye.
Since its Saturday my image is a Penny Black stamp called Basket of Chicks and because my chicks are yellow, well they would be but it does me I can't colour my cat in mice colours what I consider the easy option but I think he looks OK in greys.
The sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches and the flowers are the Memory Box Blooming Violet it wasn't until I saw it on someone's card I thought how pretty it was previously I thought it was pretty but couldn't picture how it would work out.
The scallops were cut with a die and the circle various punches, the sentiment is Stampin Up.
So today I have a list of things to do, finish off the card I started yesterday, finish off the retirement card the outside is finish and they want another pic on the back of the card. Finish off the scrapbooking pages I made at MJ crop just need a couple of titles and a christmas tree.
Then its back to the secret project 3 squares in 8 weeks is sounding better but I still have the turkey stitch to do and the fringe which I wondering whether do after I give it a gentle wash.

Balloons

I really didn't think I would have time to make a card for Up in the Air challenge on Less is More and I still haven't found the cloud embossing folder I made which would have been perfect for this challenge.
Then I remembered the CC Designs balloon die and decided to use the Hero Arts Cloud background stamp or I should say a couple of strip because the strip isn't long enough for the card so my fishtail banner is hiding the join.
The little tags are from Stampin Up and some careful stamping using scraps of paper so only stamped the words I needed.
It might not be very original but at least I managed to join in this week.
Well the cold weather is back and the windchill is making things far too cold for me. It means I will be moving out of my craftroom today since the cold snap is going to continue through the weekend.

Baby Fairies

Don't you love what Jak has done for this month's Dream Team Blog Hop

Well its my turn to choose a theme and as you can see I have chosen Babies including Fairy Babies. There is something wonderful about Mo's baby images it isn't just the cute faces but the chubby little legs and the stick it out tummies just like real babies.
So if you going to have one baby why not two, I've merged two of the baby fairies from the 3 Baby Fairies set don't ask me how I do it because Photoshop has a hissy fit each time and each time I tell myself never again.
Not sure if the card works since I didn't use a sketch rather let the card take on a life of its own. The frame is made using Martha Stewart punches and I use a Lifestyle embossing folder which has dots on it so they had to be pearled. The papers are some new Kaiser which I used for the flowers and border, the corners is a Memory box die.
Now since I chose the theme I'm the beginning of the Blog Hop so now you need to
 HOP SKIP AND JUMP
Over to

You need to leave a comment on everyone's post to be in with a chance to win one of the two prizes of a voucher to spend in Mo's shop.

Arrows

Time for new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

 and this week its
Arrows
The team is also using Basic Grey products but thats not a requirement for the challenge just the DT chance to show what amazing products Simon Says Stamps has in their store.

I've used Basic Grey Serenade some of the papers were nice a grungy perfect for awkward boys cards and the arrows work brilliantly for them. Unfortunately I realised I didn't have any arrow dies and the MFT ones I fancy are out of stock so I shall be stalking the shop to make sure I get them when they come in.
In the mean time I used some chipboard ones I had in my stash but I actually used them as templates and I used sticky fixers on them so give them some dimension.
I absolutely love the Hexagon dies from MFT again useful for those mens cards but I also plan to use them for scrapbooking.
My image is a La La Land stamp called Lil Rocker Luka he wasn't out of stock when I first checked last week but he is now but I'm sure he will back soon. I stamped him on the Basic Grey card so I could paper piece his hat and guitar and I used a gold pen for the details on the guitar.
I think I may have lost this card to my daughter who decided she had to have it for a friend.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog.

Before you leave we would like to tell you about a fabulous Love Fest Event over on the Splitcoast Stampers Website. We are proud to be a Company Member and  Simon Says Stamp is hosting Day 5 with a Die Crazy Challenge !! If you would like to join in then please hop on over to the SCS site for more details

A Quick Card

When I saw this Wedding cake stamp in the new mini catalogue from Stampin Up I knew I had to have it. Also I've inspired by the blackboard cards on Pinterest so I quickly inked the stamp up with Versamark and embossed it with white powder.
The swirl stamp is from Elements of Style again stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. I also brought the tiny tag but plan to get the stamps next time so I had to write Just Married on the tags.
I'm afaid the bakers twirl is Doodlebug but plan to buy the espresso one from Stampin up next time too.
Yes I know the cake isn't quite straight but it only took about 10 minutes to make and most of that was to tie the bow!
I shall be back at 2pm with my Simon Says Stamps new challenge card.

Lovefest

I mentioned Lovefest on Splitcoaststampers yesterday and Simon Say Stamps challenge was posted soon after. The challenge is fairly easy you just have to use a die.
I really wanted to join in but I'm feeling pressured at the moment to get my Secret Project done asap especially as I hate having to do stuff on a tight time scale but the Simon Says Stamps Falling Hearts die had been used on the Kraft card and it hadn't been used so rather than waste is I thought I would make a quick card.
First of I had a new pack of Carta Bella on my desk called True Friends and I rarely used the plain sheets so I thought I would use them for this card and just a strip of patterned paper for the side.
So out came the Simon Says Stamps Ariana Wreath Die and using the Talk Bubbles stamps for the sentiment, then it was a case of using the Fresh daisies to bring in the pink.
I trimmed the side edge with a Memory Box die I think its called mini scallop but I'm trying to find dies to replace some of the punches I use so I pleased with this one.

To join in you have to load your card to the gallery and do this you need to type into the keyword LOVEFEST2013E
I shall load my card but unfortunately I won't be able to win one the two fabulous prizes because being on the DT disallows me from winning but I pleased I found time to join in.

Time for a Sketch

It's sketch time at Everybody Art Challenge and you know I love sketches. This time I flipped the sketch to suit my taste and just got out all my favourite things.
The image is a Saturated Canary and the papers are Kaiser I think its Chapter One but don't hold me to that because I down to just a few nice pages left.
Of course I had to use the MFT Crochet Border die round my oval and the sentiment is Lily of the Valley. Possibly my favouritie swirl from Simon Says Stamp Harrington Vine, love how it so delicate and fairly straight and fits in some tight places.
There has to be flowers which is my EK success punch and some black pearls which I have just noticed one has taken a mind of its own and started to walk away from the flower centre.
My favourite finishing touches some lace and ribbon.

Here's a pic of the sketch so you work out how flipped it, do hope you can join us and also check out the fabulous creations from the team.

Mother's Day

I still haven't got over how I forgot to publish my schedule post senior moments are coming thick and fast at the moment. At least today I've a card to show using the Sketch Wednesday Sketch which has a triangle has a main mat and in my head using several corner dies was going to work.
Not a perfect triangle and the middle one along the bottom gave me headache until a lot of cutting and reshaping till I was happy. It doesn't look quite like a triangle it kinda looks like a filigree clock but I might do it again but copy the bottom at the top.
The papers are LOTV from last time and once I finished with the triangle mat I tried to make some flowers work but in the end I just added a few pearls in the corner.
And since we are running through February it won't be long before we will be celebrating Mother's Day here in the UK so this card will tick off one of the three cards I have to make. The sentiment is a Woodware one that I have already cut the Mum so it would fit in a circle.
Are you a member at Splitcoast Stampers or SCS as its affectionately know as well if not I certainly would recommend it and their resources are worth it if for nothing else. Well they're have a LoveFest where some of the Manufactors are offering a challenge each day and I know Simon Says Stamps is doing a challenge so do go and join in.

Fore You

( This is really the card I meant to publish today but since I forgot to publish yesterdays you get two for the price of one)
I don't like making mens cards, I like colouring the images but turn them into cards I rather do anything but. So what on earth made me decide to make a mans card.
I like this image from Karen Doodles not sure if it still available but I think its such a fun image but then I'm in trouble.
This time I've used the Cupcake Challenge sketch and I just got my hands on the CC Designs bunting die.
What I don't understand that I get two strips of the same size bunting when one will do. So I had to make my own mats to go behind the banners to help them stand out and I wish I had used blue for the Fore You but time ran out on me.
The Penny Black sentiment worked to finish off the sentence and a couple a faux brads. That was it well it is a Mans card after all.
I had a great day yesterday lots of laughs and food. I made quite a few layouts but they do need a couple of finishing touches and some journalling.
But not today I've a card to make that Hubby has asked me to make which has to huge as it will be for a work buddy who is retirement, I have list of requirements for the card and its for a man so I'm having palpitations as we speak. Then there is a couple of DT cards one of which is must be finished today.

Love in an Eggcup

So once again I leave the post to the tender mercies of Mr Blogger to schedule while I'm ferried to my sisters for the journey to MJ's All day Crop.
Today I've used Sketch and Stash Sketch with the cute Penny Black Mice in an Eggcup. The gorgeous papers are the new ones from LOTV called Country Lady I think but Country Gentleman again I'm only guessing thats what its called works well with them too.
I've used the fabulous Harrington Vine die from Simon Says Stamps cos its thin and delicate and once again I've paper pieced the buds. The flowers are a punch with some pearls to finish.
Oh the sentiment is LOTV too and not forgetting, I almost did the MFT crochet border die round my oval.
Hope everyone has a good weekend hopefully it will be another day like today I could almost feel Spring in bones.

Ok I can't blame Mr Blogger I forgot to hit the publish button so of course the post won't publish at the schedule time.

Sending a Kiss

When I first saw the sketch on Sketch Saturday I was in two minds whether to attempt or not but I'm so glad I did. The first plan of action was to work out the size of the image mat then to find out which doily die would fit. I did have prob with the blue colours but of course the ribbon is not that colour in real life its a bit lighter, bad camera.
Once I added the Memory box floral die along with some of their flower dies it really did fall into place and now I'm glad I had a go.
The image is from Sassy Cheryl and I think it could work for lots of different themes but I added the Stampin Up sentiment which is kinda cute.
Its warmed up a couple of degrees so its back to the craftroom to catch up with a few cards and to pack my Scrapbooking Tote I'm off to MJ's for the day on Saturday. So fingers crossed I get a few pages done for my Christmas Album.

Music

My least favourite challenge on Less is More, One Layer, I could almost cope with the Music theme. I have a set of Inkadinkdoo stamp set so I blew the dust off. I did have issues for some reason I wanted to use nealy every stamp and my resistance was low. This was the third attempt. I masked the guitar and a border and stamped a Hero Arts music stamp and using the same ink I blended down one side. Hopefully I was able to stop in time to call it Less is more.

Unlike my second attempt, the first went in the bin, I decided this wasn't Less is More and rather than waste it place it on matching cardstock.

Singin in the Rain

How can the same coloured ribbon turn out so different when you photo the card well never mind.  The image is from Mo Manning called Singin in the Rain.
I've used the sketch from Sunday Sketch and stamp but I did have an issue I cut my circle mat for the image out of the large square mat to save card but suddenly realised I had a hole in the card mat and it wasn't where I wanted to place the image and rather use another piece of card I place a strip of patterned card stock across the middle.
Then I went over the top with embellishment using the Foliage die from memory box but I did chop a bit off to make it fit and the fence die from Impressions Obessions finished off with the butterfly punch from Kars.
I gave up with the craftroom yesterday not sure whether it was room or me but I couldn't get warm yesterday but the weather is suppose to turn a bit warmer today.
