Lighthouse

You might have guessed that I actually not here in the UK but I'm due back today. So todays card is for our Spanish friend whose Birthday it was while we were out there.
I've used TiddlyInks lighthouse and the sketch from some weeks ago on Sketch Saturday but turned it before adding the Stampin Up Chevrons.
It took a few trys to get a knot that sort of resembles a reef knot.

Mistletoe

Remember the Penny Black Mistletoe on the Birds card on Saturday well this is the waste and I cut out a piece of green mistletoe. Of course now I have a waste bit of green but it doesn't have the same effect. Once again I used the Simon says Stamp Christmas sentiment, love it last year, love it this so you've been warned you will see more of it in the following weeks.
Added a bit of twine and left it with long ends and finished off with some pearls.

Birds

I was struggling to find time to colour but I knew this lads were in my pile of coloured images and as the days creep past the halfway mark it time I thought of Christmas cards. Of course the little birds are Penny Black and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.
The Mistletoe is also Penny Black but the Holly is a Martha Stewart punch. The background is a left over piece from making it smaller for another card, knew I would be able to add it to somewhere else.
As for Christmas Cards you've been warned.

Aloha

So I'm on week 26 so we are halfway through the year still have a couple of layouts but I reckon I need to get my Scrapbooking head back on to make sure I keep up to date. It will interest scrapping in my craftroom I'm finding I'm going through a CAS phase at the moment.
Anyway this little chap went to his Uncle's 40th Birthday which was an Hawaiian theme, it was a good party.
The papers are Echo Park and the Palm tree is cut from the Cricut. The hardback stickers have been in my stash just waiting for the perfect opportunity to be used.
Sentiment cut out using the cricut as well.

Moved In

This is what Hubby was altering last week before I could move in. Its Billy the Bookshelf (thats what Ikea calls him) He had to have a bit more cut out at the bottom for the skirting and the light fitting which I think you can just see above the first line of RUB. The crates are full of punches, the A5 boxes have my dies and the ones above some embossing folders from Stampin Up and Inkylicious brushes. Apart for the punches the boxes have been moved around so that the stamps are not in direct sunlight from the door.

Notice the white box in the days of my children being babies this was we travelled with not fancy pretty bags that they have now. Its full of material but it I rest my feet on it personally I think I need a cushion for it to pretty it up. I also love that with a twist of the office chair I can used the Big Shot without getting up. My biggest worry is the Stampin Up Inkpads I keep checking the sun isn't touch them to dry them out.

Here's my headache I really don't want to part with it but it has to go but its still two thirds full. My Penny Black wooden stamps are in four of the drawers, Hero Art Cling and Penny Black Cling in another two. Three full of ribbons and two of sizzix dies, the last one is full of odds and sods. The plastic draw is empty but hubby needs to do a huge sort out of his shed and it maybe needed for that. The crate has odds and sods including some things for a Candy that I'm trying to organise.

For some reason I thought this challenge was for stripes and its just as well it isn't cos I kinda of cheated. I just used strips of card stock but I do love how this card turned out.
First of all I used American Crafts Amy Tangerine Plus One paper pad and I also use MFT Pure Innocence Peek-a-Boo which I used the dotty sheet from the paper pad for her dress.
The fancy border is from MFT Crochet Border since its one of my favourites you might know that already.
The stars are a Simon Says Stamp Stars die  I just cut out in some scraps of colour card that matched the colours in the floral strip at the top of the card.
Some Doodlebug twine and a button from a very large stash of buttons I have to finish.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Postage Cat

It time for another challenge on Everybody Art and this time its for Postage Stamp. I've sorted of cheated by using a stamp with a Postcard with some postage marks on. I think the stamp is a Unity one but again don't hold it to me.
The papers I'm pretty sure they are My Minds Eye and since my Postcard is large one of the reason I chopped off the side I didn't both much with embellishment except the usual suspects. Ribbon, Lace, little flowers and some pearls not forgetting my La la land corner die.
Do hope you can join us this week and don't forget to pop over to check the team.

Mojo flower

Missed another Mojo Monday deadline but I do love using their sketches. Once again I've used a Flower Garden stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamps.
Not sure on the paper is was bit left over on my desk. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamps and the die behind the flower is Spellbinders.
Just a quick post while I sort out bits over the house, Nikki my firiend and my Stampin Up demo is borrowing my house for her Catalogue launch party, hopefully the weather will be nice and will be able to use the outside patio too. Its 10.30 -13.30 this Saturday.

Favourite mouse

I'm not only in my new room trying to work out where everything is but I'm short supply with time at the moment so a quick, simple card. Well thats the plan although some of these simple card take more time than they look.
For quickness I picked a favourite Penny Black mouse cos they so easy to colour. Found some pink gingham which I cut out part circle with a Spellbinder and use another Spellbinder for scallop edge. The fancy diecut if from Cherry Lynn well I think it is I've lost the packet and I'm guess with the colour of the die.
A few pearls and a Birthday sentiment.

SUN, SEA

Oh this layout gave me a few headaches not least that my white pen turned pink the paper. I thought the sun would look good at angle and when I finished no it didn't and I had to move the words Sun again. You might wonder why again because someone had a senior moment and instead of Sun, Sea and No Men I had Sea, Sun etc and it fall of the tongue like it suppose to.
My friend wasn't impressed with the use of another photo for the phone die which from MFT along with the Camera in the corner.
In the end it doesn't look too bad as long as I don't look at the sun!

Summer Lovin'

This month's theme was chosen by Julie

I had the perfect papers for the theme this month from Echo park and I had previously merged this two fabulous images from Mo which I had saved the file so I could use it again. The pair just cried out to be used again. The images are Summer Girl and Summer Boy but it can't be that sunny cos the girls glasses haven't changed colour, Ok I forgot they were sunglasses. I had to use glossy accents on the lollies they look good enough to eat now.
The kites are a Memory Box die and the pin wheel is simply made with a square piece of card, cut from the corner to almost the centre and then put the corner to the middle with a bit of glue but I also used a brad to catch the ends.
Now you should have arrived from the host of the Blog Hop Julie and now you need to HOP, SKIP and Jump over to Heidy don't forget to comment on the way there's a couple of vouchers to win.

I've looking forward to this weeks challenge so I could use this Laughing Set, I love these friends stamps. They can be a bit fiddly for 3d, a couple of bits overlapped but I checked whether I had cut enough out for the overlap before sticking.
I used one of the sentiments that came with the stamp but I was tempted to computer generate one for example A Tena Moment but that might be a problem with copyright.
The papers are Carta Bella Sew Lovely and I used Doodblebug Sprinkles. I decided to use Simon Says Stamps and die Flower Garden well it would be silly not since this large flower had already been cut out and it was a perfect size for my corner. The leaves are Memory Box fresh foliage die.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting!

Baby Pearls

Another new challenge this week on Everybody Art Challenge and this is another nice and easy one Pearl. Since I prefer Pearls to Rhinestones no problem.
Mo's Baby Walker has been coloured for ages so now was good time to use her. The sketch is from The Sketchy Challenge. The papers are LOTV and when you mojo is lacking get out one of your favourite dies the Floral Oval from Spellbinders.
The joy corner was on my desk unused from a previous card. Flowers with pearl centres are punches and so it my pearl butterfly.
Birthday die is Simon Says Stamps and the Ist is from All Occasion Dies.
I'm please to say that it was third time lucky and the drawer unit is now been safely delivered. I also didn't realised how large my dining room looks now its been tidy a bit!
Today I'm actually going to makes a card or two in my new room, this will be interesting. One, if things are not placed in easy reach and two whether I can find them.

Freshly Made Sketches

I've a couple of more cards using Simon Say Stamps Exclusive Flower Garden Stamp and die set. I had put some coloured cut outs in the envelope with the dies so all I had to do is make a card. When I saw the sketch on Freshly Made Sketches I knew I could use the three small yellow flowers that I had.
The sentiment is from Birthday Balloon stamp set once again from Simon Says Stamp. I've also embossed a couple of lines top and bottom of the flowers and sentiment but you can't quite see it. I've also added glossy accents to the centres.
I've made a few DT cards lately more than I would have thought but I have gone done the less is more route not sure how many cards I'll make this week. Today I'm house sitting for a delivery lets hope its third time lucky and most of my craft stuff has been moved into place there's still a lot that didn't fit and few more really useful boxes need to be brought to help.

CAS for a Man

My card gives a whole new meaning to exhaust fumes! I think maybe I over did the grunge stamps from Stamping Up. The car is again Stampin up but the sentiment was on my desk and I have no clue who made it but it is grey rubber so it could LOTV.
Very basic and very quick card, no sooner than it was dry it was being delivered. I think I better find some mojo cos I've two more mens cards to make.
Not moved in yet a bit of touch up on the paintwork to be done and the Ikea Billy shelf unit is going in there  on the wall you can't see in the photos. But it needs the skirting cut out and the light switch also need cutting out.

Another Birthday

Apart from yesterday I haven't been making cards but I did make this one when I made last weeks. One because it was a quick card using the Freshly Made sketch from a couple of weeks ago and I knew I may not get one done for this week.
Trouble is I can't remember where I got that sentiment from!
Of course the image is a Penny Black and I just used some colour card to help the image to pop out of the dotty black patterned paper.
Didn't turn out half bad.
On the craftroom, the cupboards have been washed out and my huge collection of cardstock has been put away. This has been a worry for a few weeks because they were by the patio doors in direct sunlight now they're out of the sun, sigh with relief. Now the headache begins because all my stuff is in drawers and I now have cupboards!

Friday, June 13, 2014

Almost done there's still a cupboard to go up next to the corner cupboard.

Finished just need to get rid of some tools we've decided to get an upstand to go round the worktop one to stop the paper going down the back but one of the cupboards have a bit of gap and it will hide this too. But thats been ordered and won't be here for a couple of weeks but I'm not waiting till them I shall be moving in soon. Probably after the weekend so my next photo will be with all my stuff!

Bedroom Colours

Well I tried my best but there's a few things I would change if I made this card again, one would be using the crumb cake stamp pad because it looks like I didn't press hard enought on the leafy vines stamp from hero arts.
Maybe I wouldn't bother with the outside layering of the card stock. What did I like well the stampin up flowers are rather cute.
The colours are my bedrooms and I wanted to make a card for Less is More since I haven't for a while.
Constant interruptions wasn't good for my mojo but it was for a good reason my craftroom cupboards are up and the conversion has been signed off.
We still have bit of painting to do but the worst is over or is it somehow I've got to get all my stuff in there and there's definitely less room.

Hands of love

I'm now on week of 24 and this is this weeks layout. I used the papers that was with an album I brought ages ago from TK max.
I've paper pricked round the outside and I've used a hexagon punch. The leaves and the heart in the title are from Simon Says Stamps Exclusives.
The letters for the title are a cut from the cricut and stickers. The tag made with a stampin up punch and rub on words rubbed on.
Of course the gorgeous little chap is my nephew and you can just work out that hands holding him are two different people his Mum and Dad.
Totally chaos is reigning here first I spent yet another day waiting for a drawer for my son which now fingers crossed is coming Monday. Also my brother is here hanging the my cupboards and finishing off my craftroom he's a bit of character so bear that in mind that nothing is happening crafty wise.

Hang on Hedge

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for our  Fathers Day/Masculine Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

STENCIL IT

Stencils are such a fun product to use. You can buy them ready made or make your own !
We are showcasing The Crafters Workshop Products this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

A bit disappointed in my card in my head it worked out so much better. The stencil I used was Mini Harlequin from The Crafters Workshop. First I tried just using ink but didn't like that, then I used Dreamweaver Paste this worked much better and added a bit of cour to help show it up.
Then I thought the Penny Black Hang on Hedge would work with the Insta-frame die from MFT. The balloons are just stamped with the Penny Black stamp onto Echo Park Thats My Boy papers.
I used the Birthday from the Happy Birthday die from Simon Says Stamp exclusives and I the stamp is from their Happy die and Stamp set.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting
